How Much Does a Website Cost in India for a Manufacturer or Exporter?

A plain-English guide to website costs in India: typical price ranges, what changes the price, the yearly costs people forget, and how to compare quotes.

How Much Does a Website Cost in India for a Manufacturer or Exporter?

“How much will my website cost?” is the first question most business owners ask, and the answer you get is often “it depends”. That is true, but it is not very helpful.

This guide gives you realistic price ranges for websites in India, explains what makes the price go up or down, and shows you how to compare quotes fairly. The numbers are typical market ranges for 2026. They are a guide, not a quote, and real prices vary by agency, city and project.

Typical price ranges

Type of website What it usually includes Typical cost (one-time)
Simple company website 5 to 8 pages, contact form, mobile-friendly design ₹25,000 to ₹75,000
Product catalogue website Product categories and pages, enquiry forms, basic SEO, downloadable catalogue ₹60,000 to ₹2,00,000
Large or custom catalogue site Many products, filters, several languages, dealer login, custom features ₹2,00,000 to ₹6,00,000 or more
Online store Online payments, shipping, orders, customer accounts ₹1,00,000 to ₹5,00,000 or more

Most manufacturers and exporters fit the second row. They do not need to sell online. They need buyers to find them, trust them and send an enquiry.

What changes the price

Number of pages and products. A 100-product catalogue takes more work than a 10-page brochure site. Most of the extra time goes into organising products, writing specifications and setting up filters.

Design. A custom design made for your brand costs more than a ready-made template, but it looks like your company and not like everyone else. For a business that sells high-value products to overseas buyers, this is usually worth paying for.

Features. Each extra feature adds time: multiple languages, a dealer portal, a quote request cart, a live chat, a blog, or connecting with your accounting software.

Content. Who writes the text and prepares the photos? If you provide finished content, the price is lower. If the agency writes product descriptions or edits photos, it adds to the price.

Search engine optimisation (SEO). Basic SEO (page titles, descriptions, fast loading, a sitemap) should be part of any good website. Ongoing SEO work such as keyword research and regular content is a separate service.

Yearly costs that people forget

The build is only part of the cost. Plan for these every year:

  • Domain name: roughly ₹700 to ₹1,500 per year for a .in or .com.
  • Hosting: from almost free for simple static websites to ₹15,000 or more a year for larger or busier sites.
  • Business email: about ₹100 to ₹300 per user per month for professional email on your own domain.
  • Maintenance and support: updates, backups, small changes and security checks. This is often a small yearly fee or a monthly retainer.
  • Content updates: new products, new photos and news. You can do this yourself if the website is easy to edit, or pay for it.

Ask about all of these before you sign. A cheap build with expensive yearly costs may cost more over three years than a better build with low running costs.

Freelancer, small agency or large agency?

  • A freelancer is usually the cheapest option and works well for simple sites. The risk is availability: if they get busy or leave, you may be stuck without support.
  • A small, focused agency offers a team of designer, developer and SEO person at a fair price, and usually gives better support after launch. This is often the best balance for manufacturers.
  • A large agency brings big-company process and a bigger price. It makes sense for large, complex projects.

Whichever you choose, ask to see websites they have built for businesses like yours. For example, you can look at our recent work for manufacturers and exporters.

How to compare quotes fairly

Two quotes with the same price can include very different things. Ask each agency:

  1. How many pages and products are included?
  2. Is the design custom or from a template?
  3. Does the price include content, photos and product upload?
  4. Is SEO setup included? What exactly?
  5. Is the website fast and mobile-friendly? Can they show you speed test results for other projects?
  6. Who owns the website, code and domain once it is finished?
  7. What support is included after launch, and for how long?
  8. How long will the project take?

Put the answers side by side. The cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest in the end, and the most expensive is rarely the best.

Warning signs

  • A very low fixed price with no list of what is included
  • Pressure to pay everything upfront
  • The agency keeps ownership of your domain or code
  • No examples of similar work, or examples that no longer load
  • Promises of “number one on Google in 30 days”

How to get more value for your money

  • Prepare your content early. Delays in photos and product details are a common reason projects run over time and budget.
  • Start with what matters. Launch with your main products and add the rest later.
  • Choose a site you can update yourself, so small changes do not need a new invoice every time.
  • Think in years, not months. A fast, well-built website keeps bringing enquiries for years.

What a website should earn for you

A good website is not just a cost. For an exporter, a single new overseas customer can be worth far more than the cost of the website. So the better question is not only “what does it cost?” but “what will it bring in?” A website that is easy for buyers to understand, fast to load and simple to enquire through is the one that pays for itself.
